The Brick Theater

The Brick Theater is a 70-seat^[1][2] state-of-the-art^[3] theater located at 575 Metropolitan Ave near the corner of Lorimer St in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.^[4] Housed in a brick-walled^[3][5] former auto-body shop/former yoga center^[3][5] on the first floor of a former industrial building,^[1] a weathered^[1] wooden garage door^[4] announces the entrance to what Gothamist hails as “one of the city’s most reliable sources for smart, funny, and surprising performance.”^[6] Founded in 2002 by co–Artistic Directors Michael Gardner and Robert Honeywell,^{[1][2][3][5][6]} The Brick has become known for its co-producing model^[4] and its “oddball,”^[7] “tartly-themed”^[2] summer festivals.^[1][4][5][7] The Brick has presented works from artists including Debate Society,^[2] Eric Bland’s Old Kent Road Theater,^[4] and Eddie Kim,^[4] as well as staff-produced offerings from Gardner,^[2] Honeywell,^[2] Piper McKenzie,^[4] Gemini CollisionWorks,^[2] and The Fifth Wall.
